This has been a week of firsts. First of all, it is the first week of blog posts on this new site I created for Robert Lee Brewer’s My Name Is Not Bob, aka MNINB, April Platform Challenge.
Update: This blog celebrated its first month last week. This week it is getting a facelift. New links available soon. Thursdays are getting a new theme. New Page for Guest Blogging.
No coincidence that WordPress keeps popping up with notifications of different blogging milestones…at a frantic pace. Milestones in blog posts, milestones in responders, milestones in subscribers, milestones in followers, milestones in ping-backs… Milestones enough to build a sturdy writer’s cottage to share with the world.
So I say to you, “Won’t you come write with me?”
If at first, the idea is not absurd, then there is no hope for it. ~Albert Einstein
One of my fellow #MNINBers, Khara House, has created a most wonderous list of our members who accept guest bloggers on their sites.
Here’s my entry:

According to Carol Tice, The Freelance Writer’s Den-mother, writers should be paid. I am in total agreement with Carol. But as I am celebrating all of these new firsts, you can bet that my budget is on less than a shoestring.
Here is what I propose:
For each guest blogging gig that is accepted by Writing Space, I will compensate with an in-kind guest appearance on your own blog. Don’t you love the barter system?
Alternatively, if this is not applicable to you, I will send you a half-dozen-count box of Coco Puffs from Liliha Bakery. How’s that for a deal?
Caveat: I can only ship the baked goodies to US addresses. Sorry!
If you didn’t know it already, I love to see things in my Comments box. I would also love, love, love to see queries in my inbox. Dear Readers (aka DRs), talk story with us. As another part of the Co-creation experiment: Write Away With Me!

Hi, Lara! I love your blog! Writing is a basic way to communicate our feelings, so I applaud your efforts in encouraging others to write and providing them with an opportunity on this website. I’m also glad that you put effort into your verbal skills by being a Toastmaster. Speaking to large groups or one-on-one is another basic form of communication, so I am glad that you are developing both skills. Please keep up the good work!
Thank you for the kind words, Dean.
Toastmasters has given me an incredible opportunity to improve both my writing and speaking skills. I hope some of our local TMers are up for my invitation.

Lara, you are so good at this! I’m hoping with some practice the ideas will come exponentially and the posts will be a little easier to write. I like your categories–doing different topics on different days. I know others do it, too, but that’s sort of new to me (as is this whole blogging world!). Thanks for the great post (love the quotes) and for the invitation to “guest” with you. I would love to do a memoir piece for you and will send an email with an idea.
I would love to have you, Gerry! And yes, this is an experiment for me as well. I am trying to share what I learn with my writerly readers as I go. Thanks for being part of this co-creation process.
I’m going to look forward to my e-mail notifications of your posts, Lara. I don’t know if I’ll ever get to Hawaii but your descriptions and photos are the next best thing.
Thank you for enjoying it! And thank you for signing up for email delivery! My FaceBook fan page is at the bottom of the widget well. Down, down, still further down. But I try to get others to post pics there as well. Come and be interactive with us!
